Big Creek Lodge - unknown date and 2019

Big Creek Lodge, in the mid-1900s, provided a place where anyone could stop in for good conversation and a cool drink. In such a remote area, one which often required a combination of sled dogs, snowshoes, and airplanes to reach in the wintertime, folks valued being able to find community and a warm place to rest. The new lodge, opened to the public in 2018 after the original burned in October of 2008, stands near the historic structures that survived the flames.
