SUBJECT: Vandal Hybrid Budget Model Rolling Out, Join Webinar March 25
We have made tremendous progress over the past year in turning our financial situation around – despite a global pandemic. Every corner of the university has contributed, and we should each feel proud of what we have accomplished together.
We still have some important work to do – including meeting reserve levels mandated by the State Board of Education. Additionally, we want to put ourselves in a favorable position to protect us as much as possible from external economic impacts and to enable us to invest and grow strategically.
In October 2019, a working group was created to evaluate our budget modeling and develop a recommendation around how we can ensure financial stability for our university.
Much thinking, deliberation, feedback and hard work went into the new Vandal Hybrid Budget Model to guide future resource allocation. The sound, strategic and efficient business practices this model introduces will support us in controlling expenses and in investing in strategic areas to increase revenue for years to come.
To learn more about the new Vandal Hybrid Budget Model, you can:
- Read the updated Q&As on the Sustainable Financial Model webpage.
- Read the working group’s white paper.
- Join a webinar during which the model will be presented. The event is at 3 p.m. Pacific/4 p.m. Mountain time, Thursday, March 25 and is open to all employees. Pre-registration is required. The webinar will be recorded and available on the working group webpage after the event.
