Description:
Specifications No. 2475, March 24, 1949. This photograph was taken as the floating caisson was being submerged in the spillway bucket during its initial trial operation. The caisson barge with operating equipment is shown floating between the caisson towers. In the foreground is the caisson 'A' frame anchored to the spillway face, and in the background are the divers' barge, the work barge, and the personnel skiff. This work is being performed by Pacific Bridge Company, as part of their contract for repair of the spillway of Grand Coulee Dam.
