Coxey Hole - c.1955 and 2019

Noting the senesced vegetation in the historical photograph, the contemporary one precedes it by a month or so. This accounts for the greener vegetation and slightly higher water levels. Some changes to note are the conifers and snags in the contemporary photograph, as well as sediment loading in the creek bottom. A significant wildfire, such as the one which burned through this drainage in 2000, can increase erosion, moving soil down the unstable sides of the canyon and into the river.
