We are pleased to invite you to contribute to the Library Associates
of the University of Idaho Library. The Associates provide the vital margin
of support that helps ensure the excellence of the University Library.

The membership year is from July 1 to June 30. Please make remittance payable
to Library Associates.
Membership dues and other contributions of Library Associates enhance
library resources in ways not possible through tax dollars. But, far from
being icing on the cake or superfluous additions, Associates support is
used to acquire essential materials for Idaho's major research library.
Annual membership in Library Associates is only one way the Associates
help support the University Library. Some make regular contributions to
the Library Associates Endowment which specifically supports acquisition
of library materials. Others are instrumental in acquiring rare and unique
books, or original manuscript, archival, and photographic collections of
immeasurable research value. Members of the Associates have established
bequests, trusts, and other estate planning instruments to ensure a lasting
memorial to benefit the library. Giving opportunities can be tailored to
individual circumstances.
Charitable gifts to the University of Idaho and/or the University of
Idaho Foundation, Inc., entitle donors to claim a charitable tax deduction
for both federal and state of Idaho income tax purposes. To claim the deduction,
the donor must file an itemized Deduction Schedule A form.
State of Idaho taxpayers are entitled to not only claim donations to
the University of Idaho and/or the Foundation as an itemized deduction
on Schedule A, but they can also claim a tax credit (which reduces the
tax due) equal to the lesser of the amount donated or 20% of their Idaho
tax liability up to a maximum credit of $50 for a single person or $100
for married filing jointly.
Members of the Associates receive the satisfaction of knowing that their
contributions help support Idaho's leading academic library. Associates
also receive complimentary copies of the Library Associates' newsletter,
Towers, as well as invitations to library and book-related events.
