4^th July 1890, My 11^th 4^th among Nez
heart back home & then here. hard to tell whether home friends or Nez P are nearest.- Not So Sad a heart tody as the Julys 3 & 2 years ago although the roving & tala klik heathen performance have both been given by Agent Robbins. but the Worship the Lords supper are not mixed with it this year thank God for a little more hamonawit in Peter & Elders. I rejoiced to See John Eddie & Abraham Sighing & wishing there was no July. how I have changed My views about July’s in 10 years. I See all now why Robert. Wanted two camps in K. poor Robert Silent today. tried before Pres. here in May for ____ [adultry] Not found guilty - but Silenced for six months for imprudence bah) A compromise with Chiefs. Seven Chiefs to go into the new church to be formed at end of six month - Benjamans church. hard as that four days trial was on R. it finished all opposition to the Allotment. Archie & all his clan at once went to Miss Fletcher & registered - May God comfort R. & Not let his faith fail in these dark days. Agent has Just started for F. in his cart holding the large flags. the Dr. (Gibson) is to come for Me this evening I expect to stay tonight at M^cConvills. when I go up how I will miss the dear Eaves family happy now in Portland happy of course they are. their life of three years upon the reservation Mrs E says seems like a dream. how much sunshine they always brought to My home. had furlough to go home for three months but sue is so opposed I could not go.

Five years good full bright ones I spent in the old house near the church. A bright place for the people busy Sab’s - how Eddie C. developed in the Sundays spent in that house. What does Peter mean to Stay So long on the mountains and this was the day appointed for communion. Elders away . it was well Miss Fletcher Sent James S. to take Me down late as it was found Eddie & Elias Sitting inside E said he was not going into the pulpit of himself. how kind Mr M^cConvilles & Miss Flether And Miss Gay are. Miss F four men for two days working at the old house - the falling down old poarch and one partition Soon down. Miss F & Gay & Survyor Briggs went straight over from here & Selected where the Mission farm is to be. & My cottage which Mrs Ladd So kindly offered to build while I was in P. if the Lord gives Me plenty to do & his presence in the doing all will be will - what a privilidge to be so near Gov. S. & work in it. hope nothing will prevent. the Dear E’s in Portland

Five years today Since I left Kamiah - I have no desire to go back now - Archie after all these years of plotting has suceeded today the congregation is divided. both Robert & Archie in that little Valley river between them. Mr Deffenbaugh was there last Sab. reinstated Robert five months Silent. he says they all See the root of R’s trouble but do not know what else to do but the [put] Goats to one Side. Miss Fletcher & Miss Gay gone to Washington. Archies last move to take the call himself. the call to Pres & Acept it. the police rode out the Carpenter from Training S. Judges orders. No regular S yet. I fear to try much yet in Gov S. prayermeeting twice a week the M^cConvilles go

And a pleasan thanksgiving. was invited to & led the Services in Gov. S. perhaps 100 present. had dinner with the mess Virginia & Hellen. two catholic girls visited Me today are to be back for Sociable this evening. had a good Nez Perce prayermeeting this afternoon. am happier here than in the old place near the Church - have great opportunity to Sow seed in young hearts. two young men sitting here now looking at Bible pictures. Tom Hudson & Mishiel lately from Montana. this morning I traced the thanksgiving back to Moses then again the thanksgiving after the return from Babylonish Captivity. McConville will tell of the American thanksgiving. Oh if the dear Eaves were only here. last year Thanks -- I walked down & how far would I walk to see them today.

Eleven Christmas here ten Christmax trees. I am Surely wise in preparing this year. one entertainment in church & another here in training School. I was at the S. but So tired I could not enjoy it. days & days. directing & packing. nearly 300 children. it was well Washington Portland & Cincinnati So abundantly supplied the gifts & such nice things. Sent a box to Roberts church Kamiah to make them a little happy after their year of trials. do not know if had a tree over in Archies church or not. What nice presents for My self how wonderful love even the human is to Me. Peter & Eddie Just gone away. Peter quite cheerful.
