University of Idaho Library selected to receive resources for exploring Islamic culture
The University of Idaho Library is one of 843 libraries and state humanities councils across the country selected to receive the Bridging Cultures Bookshelf: Muslim Journeys grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) and the American Library Association. The library will receive 25 books and three documentary films focusing on the people, places, history, faith and cultures of Muslims in the United States and around the world. A one-year subscription to the Oxford Islamic Studies Online database, which provides access to primary source documents and current scholarly works, is included in the grant.
Bridging Cultures is an NEH initiative that “engages the power of the humanities to promote understanding and mutual respect for people with diverse histories, cultures, and perspectives within the United States and abroad.”
