UI, U.S. Bank Honor Idaho's Top High School Juniors at Local Events Lewiston area , April 30

April 19, 2001 ^MOSCOW–The University of Idaho Alumni Association and U.S. Bank will honor the top 10 percent of Idaho’s high school juniors at local events this spring. ^The Idaho Top Scholar Program, through the continued support of U.S. Bank, has grown since the UI Alumni Association organized it in 1994. The statewide program now honors as many as 2,000 juniors for their outstanding academic achievement from over 140 schools in Idaho. ^ “The Top Scholar Program offers an opportunity for young scholars to have a night of their own where their peers, family, faculty and community come together to acknowledge the students' dedication and effort and to reinforce their commitment to academics and citizenship,” said UI Alumni Director Harold C. Gibson, Jr.^"U.S. Bank is proud to sponsor the University of Idaho's Top Scholar Program, a role we have played since 1995," said Cindy Williams, community development manager for U.S. Bank Idaho. "The program encourages students to focus on academics and to develop themselves as life-long learners. In this way, Top Scholar is a benefit to every Idahoan.
