- A photograph of a 'Whitcomb 70-ton Diesel #74 with caboose #611, just in from Camp 60 with a log tain. Engine #74 and two mates were delivered in 1948. They had 650 H.P. and were built with extra-heavy traction motors to lug up 5%-plus grades at 2-4 mph and were the first diesels to be used successfully in logging.'
