F.W. (Fred) Hagedorn barn on Airport Road between Pullman and Moscow Item Info
- Title:
- F.W. (Fred) Hagedorn barn on Airport Road between Pullman and Moscow
- Date Created (ISO Standard):
- 1940
- Description:
- This is the F.W. (Fred) Hagedorn barn on Airport Road between Pullman and Moscow. It was constructed along with 3 other farm buildings in 1920. The smoldering remains of the farmhouse are in the foreground; the farmhouse burned following a chimney fire in 1940. Shingles from the burning house lit the barn roof on fire (a small black area is visible by the left cupola), and a neighbor from the Hawley farm climbed into the rafters, sheared off the right cupola to gain roof access, and extinguished the fire using a bucket and rope. The barn is still in great condition and is listed on the Washington State Historic Barn Register.
