This paper presents a progress report on the development of a SAS based information management system for the retrieval of hydrologic and climatic data. The new system will replace an existing system that has grown obsolete. A discussion is given of the current status of the project, and the remaining work to be accomplished. Descriptions of the overall design of the new system and of the SAS file structures are also presented. Also, examples are given of how to retrieve information from the new files. Submitted to the U.S. Geological Survey.
