- Title:
- Aquaculture techniques: Oxygen (pO2) requirements for trout. Research technical completion report. Project A-069-IDA
- Authors:
- Downey, Philip C.; Klontz, George W.
- Date Created (ISO Standard):
- 1981-02
- Description:
- Laboratory experiments were conducted to ascertain the partial pressure of oxygen (pO2) which adversely affected growth of rainbow trout. These experiments, and other data reported previously, indicate that pO2's greater than 90mmHg are necessary to maintain allowable growth rates of rainbow trout, and perhaps salmonids, in general. On the basis of 90 mmHg pO2, minimum oxygen concentrations (mg/l) for maintenance of allowable growth can be determined. These concentrations delimit the minimum oxygen levels necessary at the outfall of the pond in order to maintain the allowable growth rates of fish. Submitted to the Office of Water Research and Technology, U.S. Department of the Interior.
