- Abstract:
-
Queer Monsters (Some Ghosts) is a collection of nine short stories that interweaves elements of fairy tales, folklore, fabulism, and horror. Heavily influenced by the oral storytelling tradition, the stories experiment with sounds, voices, the author-reader relationship, tropes, and expectations. At its heart, Queer Monsters is an offering of connections – between characters, genres, storytellers, and listeners. However strange, dark, and monstrous one might feel, I hope these stories operate as a bridge across the chasm of loneliness that is the human condition.
