Heloise Johnson is a cult-survivor and sex worker living in North Dakota who spends her spare time at a mortuary, dressing bodies and curling their hair. Her would-be husband, Samuel, is a roustabout on an oil-rig with a secret. In the back of her mind, Heloise knows her secrets aren’t safe inside herself, and as she explores the memories rigged up inside herself, she discovers the clues to her past are on the property where she spent her childhood - the cult, known as the Haven.
