Structures and cabins at Taylor Wilderness Research Station - c.1980 and 2019

The long log cabin seen in both photographs came from the Lanham development at Cabin Creek. In 1990, University of Idaho had the Idaho National Guard dismantle the building, and fly sections of the log walls downstream to Taylor Wilderness Research Station. It was restored as a classroom and a bunkhouse, and serves to provide historical context, scientific material, a library, and an intellectual gathering place to the many students and faculty who visit Taylor Wilderness Research Station. The other two structures, the DeVlieg cabin, and the cookhouse, were built after 2002.
