Library hosts "Financial Fitness" workshop Sept. 18 on main floor

 

The UI Library and School of Family and Consumer Sciences are joining forces to bring information about personal finance to the university’s students and young professionals. Nancy Deringer, Assistant Professor in the School of Family and Consumer Sciences, her graduate students, and a certified debt counselor will present “Financial Fitness: Smart strategies for handling finances,” Wednesday, September 18 from 2:00 – 3:00 pm on the main floor of the library. Reference librarians Kathleen Monks and Robert Perret will also be on hand to demonstrate financial literacy resources. The free workshop is designed to help young adults navigate the financial decision making process. Discussion topics will include personal finance, credit cards, student loans, and much more.
