Postcard of a peacock at the Petersen Rock Garden near Redmond, Oregon. | Petersen Rock Gardens in Central Oregon between Redmond and Bend on old U.S. 97. Started as a hobby by Mr. Petersen from his gathering of Oregon native volcanic rocks and gems of many colors, he personally made them into many exhibits of castles, statues and pools. The setting is on his farm. The gardens have become so famous that a constant stream of tourists see them daily.
